Ellen Raskin.
I rented this book from the library called The Mysterious Disappearance of Leon (I mean Noel) and it was written and illustrated by Ellen Raskin. The book is kind of old, but I thought the design/illustration was really neat and I thought I'd share it.

woah good find! it looks very modern despite its age.
ah, that's delightful! I like the way everything is 'filled in' with pattern or words (isn't that called a calligram or something?? hmm..I can never remember).
I think I'd like to try something similar...
