Day 31: A Collection.
THE LAST DAY! I successfully completed all of the portraits I set out to do. It was a real challenge, but one I am happy I undertook. For my final three portraits, I present: David S. Pumpkins (as played by Tom Hanks), my dad, and Michael Myers. All three are intrinsically linked to this day; Halloween. My dad was always a big fan of my art and so, I wanted to make him proud by sticking to and following through with this challenge. I think I did. I was able to have lunch with my mom today and it was really nice. Though we have reached the end of the month, these portraits inspired me and I want to keep making art. Tune in a week from today to see the next set I do. I'm doing 9 portraits each month until I get burned out. TUNE IN!

Day 30: Frankenstein.
As soon as I came up with the idea to do these portraits, I wanted to do Frankenstein. I wanted to challenge myself to do the best I could and I was really happy with how this came out. I like how flat and graphic it is. I think it reads really well. Can't believe I finished these monsters up!

Day 29: Dracula.
Bela Lugosi! I'm enjoying the Universal Monsters. Matt suggested I do Dracula because of the nice lighting that hits his face. Why not? So, here's Dracula!

Day 28: The Creature.
I knew going into this that the Universal Monsters had to be a part of it, but I only had one in mind. Matt helped me come up with the others including this one. Fun Fact: I almost gave up half way through this one. For real. I didn't think I could finish it and it looked really terrible, but I just kept going and here it is. This is a good one. This set is solid. Now this creature just reminds me of The Shape of Water, but that's fine.

Day 27: Mary Sanderson.
The last of the Sanderson sisters is Mary, but Mary is probably the actual best. She has some of the funniest scenes and dialogue in the movie. I think that as a whole, the Sanderson sister portraits turned out great. Can't believe I'm almost done with Drawlloween!

Day 26: Winifred Sanderson.
The leader of the witches of Hocus Pocus: Winifred Sanderson! Did you know this was Bette Midler's favorite part that she's played? I can see why. This movie is a classic and will go on forever. Also, really love how this turned out.
Day 25: Sarah Sanderson.
Did you know Sarah Jessica Parker is related to a real life witch? Well, she was accused of being a witch and luckily the Salem Witch Trial fiasco was put to a stop a month before she was going to be on trial.

Day 24: Evil Ed.
One of my all time favorite classic horror movies is Fright Night from 1985. This movie is THE BEST! I love the use of practical effects, the characters, the music, the pacing; ah! IT IS GREAT! I've had reference for Evil Ed on my computer for awhile and got excited about painting him. I hated it when I finished it because it looks nothing like my other paintings, but now I have grown to love how painterly it looks. "YOU'RE SO COOL, BREWSTER!"

Day 23: Nosferatu.
Today is a mix between Count Orlok from Nosferatu and Petyr from What We Do in the Shadows. So, this is the baby of the two. The only gray background portrait! Nosferatu translates to mean "plague-bearer" so, there's a fun fact.

Day 22: David.
They're only noodles, Michael. The Lost Boys is one of those movies I will never get sick of. I remember when I first saw it, I did NOT see the twist coming at the end. No sir, I did not. I used to ride my bike like Pee Wee to the library by my house and rent it NONSTOP. It's one of my favorites.

Day 21: Edward.
Edward Scissorhands is a character I've been meaning to create for a very long time and I have to say, I love the way this one turned out. Edward is a very misunderstood character and I think we can all relate to him in some way.

Day 20: Large Marge.
"On this very night, ten years ago, on this same stretch of road, in the dense fog, just like this, I saw the worst accident I ever seen. There was this sound, like a garbage truck dropped off the Empire State Building. And when they finally pulled the driver's body from the twisted, burning, WRECK, it looked like THIS! Yes, sir. That was the worst accident I ever seen. BE SURE AND TELL EM, LARGE MARGE SENT YA!"

Day 19: Beetlejuice.
Today starts 3 days of Tim Burton characters! We're kicking it off with the hostest with the mostest: BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE! Say his name 3 times and let's raise some hell. Speaking of hell, painting this was like hell, but whatever. It's done.

Day 18: Kane.
The final wrestler: KANE. Kane and Undertaker are brothers (not really), but they, along with Paul Bearer, make one of the spookiest trios in the WWE. It's funny because I planned on doing both of them long before their comeback was made, but this wraps up the wrestlers.
Day 17: Paul Bearer.
Paul Bearer might not be a wrestler, but at one point he was. Here he is in his glory. I can hear him yelling in my mind and he's great. Rest in peace.

Day 16: The Undertaker.
Today kicks off 3 wrestlers that I associate with this spooky time of year and I'm starting with THE UNDERTAKER! He also goes by the dead man and he says REST IN PEACE a lot. He's the spookiest. Also, I really love how I painted this.

Day 15: Captain Spaulding.
One of the main characters from Rob Zombie's House of 1,000 Corpses is Captain Spaulding played by Sid Haig. It's a cool guy; a big weirdo, but great. He's a clown I wouldn't want to mess with. This is the best portrait I've done so far. Let's hope they only get better.

Day 14: The Joker.
Everyone who is anyone knows that I love The Joker, but not just any Joker, Heath Ledger's Joker. Heath... taken from us way too soon. Before I get a little misty eyed, I will leave the Joker here. This was one of the first portraits I did, actually. Still not completely in love, but happy nonetheless!

Day 13: Pennywise.
I had a hard time deciding between doing Tim Curry as Pennywise or Bill Skarsgard. While both are great, I reached out to my friends and old Tim Curry won by an overwhelming amount. You can't mess with the classic! BEEP BEEP, RICHIE! Also, drew up my last Nightmare Before Christmas piece. It has been a lot of work doing two different kinds of art in two different styles, but there ain't no rest for the wicked.
Day 12: Regan.
The Exorcist. This movie scarred a lot of people. My mom was one of those lucky people. I really couldn't imagine being alive when this came out. I don't think there's any movie like it. I had the chance to see it in theaters this year. It was a good time. Hard to believe it's 45 years old. Anyway, here's everyone's favorite possessed child. I did the background to remind you of the pea soup. Also, here is Oogie Boogie because The Nightmare Before Christmas is celebrating its 25th anniversary!

Day 11: DOUBLE POST!
I decided to do two for today: The Babadook AND Charlie from Hereditary. The Babadook has become a gay icon since Netflix mislabeled and he is now dating Pennywise. Charlie from Hereditary is just great. So, today has TWO. We're almost halfway through this month!
