Eat Like Andy.

This is from an ad I saw during Super Bowl 2019. It was a Burger King ad that showed a clip from a 1982 documentary called 66 Scenes from America. Burger King didn't want to take anything away from, or alter, the video in anyway. They did cut it down from 4 minutes to 45 seconds. The video shows Andy Warhol eating a whopper and the only thing BK added was a hashtag that said: #eatlikeandy. I like it because Andy Warhol made normal, everyday items into art and really challenged all of us to rethink what it means for something to be ART. It has come full circle.

Rosie & Louis.

An awesome friend of mine reached out to me to create some pet portraits. I was super thrilled! Rosie is the wild looking gray and white cat and Louis is the black cat. My favorite part about pets is that each one has their own unique personality so I really love capturing that in each painted portrait. Check em out below!

Louise the Cat.

A great friend of mine reached out and asked if I could paint a pet portrait for his girlfriend's birthday and I was more than happy to oblige. This is her cat, Louise. Louise is serving us all sorts of sass and comes off a bit witchy. She loved the painting and she showed it off to everyone.

Orville Peck.

Orville Peck is pure magic. I only just discovered him and he's on the rise. He just released his CD back in March, Pony, and it's GREAT. He's a western crooner mixed with Roy Orbison. Don't even get me started on his amazing outfits. Matt and I are going to drive to Cleveland to see him in October! So, I messed around with a different style and technique with this. I used ink for the fringe mask, but it's too shiny. I'll keep messing around, but I feel like I'm onto something.

Cooper.

I had the honor and privilege of painting Cooper: a dog with an interchangeable Elvis mouth that had a Detroit Tigers collar. I'm told he would've loved it and that's all that matters.

Building Portrait.

I had someone ask me if I could paint a building of the place where they looked just like Pam does in The Office. I knew exactly what she was referencing and I honestly tried to channel Pam as best as I could. It's a little MORE fleshed out than Pam's, but THIS WAS MY FIRST BUILDING PAINTING AND I AM HAPPY WITH IT! I used gouache!

Sgt. Pepper's.

My friend, Scott, has been nagging me to draw for like 2 weeks now and I kept saying I would tomorrow. Well, today I finally did it. I've had this picture of The Beatles in my mind for a few days and wanted to draw it so I did. I'm a huge fan of these outfits. I want to wear them. I listened to The Beatles a decent amount growing up. My mom would play them from time to time; always a Lennon fan, but never a McCartney. Way she goes, I guess. The Prodigy.

Keith Flint's untimely passing found me being asked to whip up a painting of The Prodigy frontman by a friend and fellow CCS alum. It was an honor to be asked to do this. I wanted to make sure I encompassed who he was.

Felix the Cat.

Had the honor of doing another cat pet portrait, but this time of a black and white cat named Felix. Used the old Felix the Cat background/logo. Felix sure is a cutie. It was really well received. Check out the picture I was sent of Felix with his portrait! I love doing pet portraits. If you find yourself looking for one, I'd love to do it!

She-Ra and Swift Wind.

A friend of mine has a daughter that is pretty cool. She just celebrated her birthday and she loves She-Ra (I'm not talking about that new remake; I'm talking that old cartoon). She asked me to do a painting of her daughter as She-Ra riding Swift Wind. I liked the reference, but wanted the wings to be more wing-like and to brighten it up. I also didn't realize how hard it was going to be to paint a face that small; it's the size of my pinky nail! However, really loved how this came out.

Hunting Smorgasboard.

I was asked to create a Michigan/hunting themed smorgasBOARD for a friend's boyfriend. He just recently got a house and had no art in it. I was really honored to be asked, but know nothing about hunting. So, here' the result of that list.

Pug Party.

A dear friend of mine celebrated her birthday recently and I made her this birthday card with her two pugs on it: Lily and Violet. I didn't make the card, but I did draw the dogs, give them birthday hats, cut them out, and glue them on. She loved it.

Paris Postcard.

I had a friend recently ask me to paint a postcard of a photo for her to give to her friend. I couldn't wait to do it. I saw this image in my head, painted, before I even started. When you get things to line up like that in your mind before you start, you KNOW the final is going to be awesome. This is from a photo of the two friends getting tea in Paris. So, I used acrylic and glitter for the tea (thanks for doing that glitter bit, Matt).

Space Jam Print!

After a series of paintings, I present THE SPACE JAM PRINT! It features all 9 characters and is printed in the highest quality and with the brightest and boldest colors! I love the background so much. I seriously spent so long doing it. Get one over in my Etsy if you're interested!

Daffy Duck.

To wrap it up with a little spit shine, we've got Daffy Duck. I'm Bugs over Daffy any day, but you can't have one without the other.

Tasmanian Devil.

Or TAZ. Everyone knows him as Taz. The best line that Taz says in the movie is: Lemony fresh (after they do their spit shine to clean up the gymnasium). My little sister's favorite was Taz. That's fitting because they're both animals.

Porky Pig.

Porky Pig is usually pretty nice and sweet, but when it comes time to play basketball, MOVE ASIDE. He has some major attitude and he came to WIN. I think this one might be my favorite. I really like the way it turned out.

Wile E. Coyote.

He doesn't talk much, but he's always setting traps to catch that Roadrunner. He's eyeing everyone! He's a suspicious character. I don't think he has a single quote in the movie, though.

Michael Jordan.

You can't have Space Jam without Michael Jordan. I was originally going to paint him realistically, but then I decided to make him match with his fellow Looney Tunes and made him into a cartoon version of himself.

Sylvester.

Well, suffering succotash, it's Sylvester! Like Tweety, I was a big fan of Sylvester (though, I do understand the two were mortal enemies). Matt likes how all of these cartoons have attitudes.

Lola Bunny.

Lola Bunny is up next. I knew a lot of people with crushes on her. As a friend of mine said: she was way too sexy for a cartoon. I agree. Calm down, Lola with your heavy-lidded eyes.

Tweety Bird.

When I was young, I told everyone my first tattoo was going to be Tweety Bird and I said it for many years. That's probably why you have to be 18 to get tattoos. I, thankfully, do not have a Tweety tattoo, but he really was my favorite.

Bugs Bunny.

The theme for February is SPACE JAM! So, everybody get up, it's time to slam now. I also designed the entire background for this and I'm seriously thrilled about it. First up, it's Bugs Bunny!

Kyle's Smorgasboard.

One of my all time favorite things to make has to be a smorgasboard. They can be themed for a particular show, movie, or person. OR you can give me a list of all of your favorite things and I put them together in a visual puzzle so that every time you look at it, you see something different. They take me ages to do, but they're so, so worth it. I whipped this one up for my friend, Kyle. Some things he likes are overt and in your face while others take some extra looking around.

America: Land of Shame.

More than ten years ago, I was asked by my waiter/friend at Ram's Horn to draw him a picture of the Statue of Liberty with her head in her hands in shame. A couple months back, he asked me to recreate that image, but wanted it painted, full color, and my interpretation of it. He said Lady Liberty would be ashamed of what we've done as a country; especially with the election and that everything she stood for is a sham these days. The crying tears being the American Flag instantly came to me. He was in love with it (and I'm glad).

Pantera.

After doing multiple painted dog portraits, I FINALLY got to do a cat. A dear friend asked me to paint a portrait of his girlfriend's cat, Pantera, back around Christmas. I was seriously so proud once I finished. I painted it using acrylic for the background, letters, and bowtie and I finished the cat using gouache. She absolutely loved it and he was impressed and I was really happy.
