The Undertaker.

Almost a week ago, The Undertaker retired on WWE. I watched it and it was kind of emotional, I can't even lie. So, I whipped this portrait up that I am really proud of. I wanted his face to be the focal point. I used procreate, but I used the gouache brushes. Anyone else a fan of wrestling?

Kamala Harris.

First female, multi-racial Vice President-Elect. It has taken over 200 years for this to happen and that's insane. I did this portrait for The Hallway Show, but found myself particularly inspired by this quote that she recently said. There's a lot of work to still do in this country, but this is a start.

"I'm Alone. I'm Utterly Alone."

Lydia Deetz & Winona Ryder are basically synonymous with me these days. I was originally going to hand paint this image of her wearing her veil, but then I took it into procreate and did it. It took SO LONG (so I guess I'm glad I didn't paint it because that would've taken so much longer). I'm really happy with this, though! Always a Beetlejuice fan. I haven't stopped singing the musical since I saw it. So, you know, I'm just living my best spooky life always. Click to enlarge!

RIP RBG.

RBG's passing is a major loss. The amount of work that she accomplished cannot be overstated. I was asked to create a RBG for my friend's website. This is my submission. I wanted to honor her to the best of my artistic ability.

Forever fighting the good fight. Rest in power, RBG.

Can You Call Me Joker?

Whipped up this piece for The Hallway Show. This week's subject is Joaquin Phoenix and I had to pay homage to Arthur Fleck / Joker. I wanted the background to reflect the internal chaos within him. I had a lot of fun with this.

Spooky times!

The spooky times are nearly upon us, friends! I've been getting pumped up with some little pieces. I drew/painted this piece of Sam from Trick R Treat on the back of one of my postcards and I made this fan art of Toby Toad, but added the witch hat and all of the guts and soiled utensils. It felt like the most wonderful fall night tonight.

Band Cards.

New thing: illustrate album covers and turn them into blank greeting cards. I made the Jonas Brothers card for one of my best friend's for her birthday and I made the Iron Maiden card for another of my best friends from college!

Feed Me, Seymour.

Did this Rick Moranis from Little Shop of Horrors for my friend for her birthday. It's not for sale, but I had a lot of fun making it for her. Any other Little Shop fans out there?

Space Gaga.

Recently made this piece inspired by one of Lady Gaga's looks from the VMA's, but I really put my own spin on it. Come beam me up and take me away to Chromatica, Gaga! You can pick up a print for yourself in my Etsy Shop by clicking HERE!

Chadwick Boseman.

Over on The Hallway Show (check us out on instagram and come contribute: @thehallwayshow) this week, we are honoring Chadwick Boseman. This was my submission for the prompt. Still just crazy how you'd never know he was battling for his life. The way everyone spoke of him... just the nicest guy... I wanted to do my best to honor his life by putting all that I could into this. Prints are available for sale upon request.

Beetlejuice Trading Cards.

Matt Benyo and I teamed up for our most elaborate collaboration yet: BEETLEJUICE TRADING CARDS!!! They're currently for sale on my etsy (CLICK HERE) and the full pack can be yours for $25. The day we posted the first card, we offered 10 limited edition packs that featured a hand painted iridescent card (that looked like a foil card) and WE SOLD OUT OF THE EARLY BIRD LIMITED EDITION PACKS IN AN HOUR! It was INSANE! And we had only posted ONE card! Definitely a show stopping moment for us. It was amazing. I painted all of the portraits and the little icons in the circles. Matt was responsible for everything else and he friggin KILLED it. Really jazzed about all of this. If you love Beetlejuice and Halloween as much as we do, we hope you'll consider picking a pack up! It will make our dreams come true.

I Would Die For You.

Recently made this Prince portrait on procreate and I am IN LOVE with it. I was inspired by sno-cones and superman ice cream. I basically wanted it to be this really fun, bright, dream-like piece of art. Included is Prince's symbol. You can buy a print of it over on my etsy. Just click HERE and it'll take you right there! Prince forever.

BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE! BEETLEJUICE!

I've kicked off a Beetlejuice mini collection with some postcards I've made! I painted both designs for the front and wanted to focus on the settings as opposed to the usual iconic imagery you think of when you hear Beetlejuice. Light played a huge part in both pieces. Matt designed the back, but I wrote out the back words and drew that lil Sandworm down the middle. You can pick these up from my etsy by clicking HERE! Branding/promotional display all done by the graphic design wizard that is Matt Benyo!

Tom Hanks Trading Cards.

Matt Benyo and I recently collaborated to create something super unique: Tom Hanks trading cards! It's art in the style of trading cards (because they don't have backs). We made little packs of them and it was the most ambitious and collaborative thing we have ever done. Matt was responsible for the graphic design/lay out and design/printing. It was awesome. You can see all of the cards here and the pack (Matt Benyo also designed the header). Trading cards are going to be the newest thing I do. So, strap in, cause it's going to be an awesome ride.

Tom Hanks / Woody.

Created this Woody from Toy Story mash up with Tom Hanks! I had a lot of fun doing this. I feel like it's really illustrative. I'm still trying to figure out the whole digital thing, but this is something I'm proud of.

Yungblud.

Never knew who Yungblud was before recently, but I made this mini painted portrait of him from his music video, Strawberry Lipstick, and I'm told this is my best mini portrait. I had a lot of fun with it. I feel like I'm learning more each time I make something. It's never conscious, but after stepping away, I can see it.

Lafayette & Jefferson.

A friend of mine asked me if I could paint a Lafayette and Jefferson piece with both characters on the same board. I was excited to jump to the opportunity. Daveed Diggs really tears it up in Hamilton. I love his portrayal of both characters and to have them facing off was awesome. I also did a solid gold background by request. That's about 8+ coats to get it super gold!

Home Sweet Home.

In a style similar to the Hobbit Holes that I did on procreate, I am now exploring other places and homes. This is a home of a friend called The Burrow. She asked that Floyd the Flamingo be present and I wanted to focus on making it warm and inviting; especially with the warm light.

Elvis Presley.

Did this Elvis portrait recently. Still messing with the messy painting and adding colors that aren't there. I wanted to take some creative chances with this and I like how things turned out! Size is 4x6 inches. I grew up listening to Elvis because it was a staple in our house. My mom loves him.

Number Seven.

Did this high contrast painted portrait of Ellen Page as Vanya Hargreeves (Number Seven) from Umbrella Academy as she transitions into the White Violin. This is from the finale of the first season. I'm really excited for the second season! We've just started it and it's fun so far. Excited to see where they go with it.

How Are You Feeling Today?

A friend asked me about creating a mood poster like what was popular in the 90's for a friend of hers and I was thrilled to do so. Thus, the robot poster was created. Then, Sailor Moon shortly followed. She's so expressive that I just had to. The whole point of these posters is that yes, they're a throwback, but they're also to get us talking about our feelings and emotions and putting a label to how we are feeling. I'm selling both of these posters on my etsy if you're interested. I offer 8x10 and 11x14. Click HERE to go straight to the shop!

Walter Mercado.

Walter Mercado. I didn't even know who Walter Mercado was until this year thanks to RuPaul's Drag Race (and Alexis Matteo), but then I watched the documentary on Netflix and found myself captivated by this magical, astrological man. For this mini piece, I was inspired by the star tarot card because that's who Walter is; a STAR! Mucho mucho amor, Walter.

Lydia Deetz.

"I myself am strange and unusual." - Lydia Deetz.

I FINALLY DID A PAINTING OF WINONA RYDER and not only did I do it, I did it well. Wild to think that it has taken me 30 years to finish a piece and feel good about it. I've been working relentlessly on her and I feel so accomplished. Not to mention, her in this movie is just the absolute best possible casting. So, cheers to this. I'll be doing way more in the near future.

Lydia Deetz.

Winona Ryder is a tough person to draw/paint. Have you ever tried?! Man, what a challenge. I did this painting of her as Lydia Deetz with some darkness on one side of her face. It was a challenge, but hey, we're hitting the challenges head on, people!

Eliza Schuyler Hamilton.

My dear Eliza. Eliza is one of the most expressive and resilient characters in the entire Hamilton show. Her song at the end really gets to me. It hadn't before, but now I just can't handle it. THE GASP! Say what you will, but I do believe it's her breaking the 4th wall and realizing her story is being told. Powerful. I love it so much. This is when she is mourning during It's Quiet Uptown. Her strength and courage throughout the show dealing with loss, heartbreak, betrayal; it's incredible. So, the show started with Alexander Hamilton and so did my series, but both, appropriately, end with Eliza.

Aaron Burr.

Pardon me, are you Aaron Burr, sir? I wanted to do a very formal painting of Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr for the Hamilton series. I tried to focus on combining the painterly technique and black and white. I feel it works better in color, but I do love the rich red for the background, as he does have blood on his hands.

Angelica Schuyler.

I was way too excited to mess around with the colors when I painted Angelica where I tried to capture the passion and emotion she brings to the stage when she performs. She has such strength, but vulnerability and my whole goal was to capture movement and emotion rather than a still moving likeness. Messing around with this paint style more and falling in love with it with every stroke. I love, love, LOVE the purple on the side of her face. I wish the photos did the colors as much justice as looking at it in person does, but it's still bold & vibrant.

Thomas Jefferson.

What'd I miss?! Daveed Diggs is one of my favorite actors in Hamilton and arguably one of the best rappers of all time. I was way too excited to paint him. I wanted to go with the purple background because it reminds me of his Jefferson outfit.

King George III.

I was way too excited to finally get around to painting King George III IN COLOR. I started it one way and it ended up another. I got extremely painterly with this one and it made me so happy. It was a new direction/style and one that I want to dive into more. Took me about 3 hours and it's quite small: 2x3 inches.

Alexander Hamilton.

It's wild to think that I haven't done any portraits from Hamilton before this. My first one is of none other than Alexander Hamilton. Lin-Manuel Miranda, man. What a friggin all star. This is actually a super small portrait, but it looked really good in the marble frame. I painted this right before it started streaming and have watched it probably 6 times. So, that's where I'm at. First of many portraits from this amazing musical is what I say.
