I was idly drawing when I drew this. I was trying to figure out what she was. At first I thought Skatha, but then I came up with the banshee. A banshee: "In Irish Mythology is a female spirit, usually believed to be an omen of death or a messenger from another world." I wanted this banshee to be mean and evil. Then I did some research and found out that the red poppy would make a great hair accessory because it's associated with death during WWI and WWII. I found out that the swirls in the hair meant death in some culture that I clearly didn't write down. I was going to add things like dripping blood and a clock, but I didn't want it to get cliche. I like the sketch. I enjoy the way it turned out, but I didn't really know what to do for the finish so I just messed around with the coloring and used two different backgrounds. I figured I needed to do SOMETHING Halloween related. Tis the season, right?

The flower in her hair reminds me of those flowers Melissa was making during Cranbrook... lol
