Motivate & Create!
I was having a conversation with my friend Cristina about New York City. She mentioned Central Park and I said I couldn't believe people living in NYC could get used to seeing Central Park everyday. She replied by saying she doesn't ever want to get so used to something that she forgets what made it so great in the first place; she didn't want it to lose its magic. Her words resonate in my mind as I sit here and type this. The next time you see a familiar sight, look upon it with fresh eyes. Fresh eyes mean a fresh mind. Here's a motivating page from my sketchbook. Also, my dad left me a really great anonymous comment on one of my cut outs that said: "CUT IT OUT CHELSEA....AND DON'T STOP..."

This is a great post. Dads comment, how funny and like Dad, great man.
I really love what your friend said. It's so easy to take things for granted, and unfortunately I think it's human nature that most of us quietly slip into this rut without being aware of it.
I consider myself fortunate that I'm a photographer, and as such, I find myself constantly looking at the same scenes over-and-over again...but with fresh eyes. The lighting could be different, or the time of year, the time of day, or the weather etc.
There is always magic to be found, even in a place or a face that you see every single day.
Great post Chelsea!
thats a smart friend you got there. haha that was a great heart to heart we had! love it!
love the cut out too. so true! we dont have to give up hope, we have tth choice to keep going or to give up.
also, that comment your dad left is precious. lol it makes me want to cry a little. =)
- love always, Cristina!
You have to live life the same way. Look forward to each day and the excitin' things it can bring. It will keep you young, happy, and more likeable.
(I'm workin' on all that.)
In life there are a lot of things that can take you by surprise, catch you off guard and get you down, let you down, etc. Last night I was taking by surprise and lost almost all hope and it hurt me pretty bad. This morning I woke up not feeling ANY better, and then I saw this. I really needed it.
hahahaha you're dad is a funny guy
INCORRECT YOUR. Dang. Embarrassing.
